Plastic Plan: Our 3 Proposals to Boost Performance 1604 1080 admin-Leko

As part of the national consultation on the Plastics Plan, Léko is sharing lessons learned from its experience and making concrete proposals to accelerate the reuse and recycling of household packaging and paper.

Our conviction is clear: to achieve the goals we have set, the priority is not to reinvent existing systems, but to accelerate the rollout of solutions that are already operational and proven. Industry stakeholders now have the experience, systems, and infrastructure that should be leveraged to achieve sustainable improvements in environmental performance.

Drawing on our experience working alongside producers, local governments, and all stakeholders in the sector, we propose to focus our efforts on three priorities:

  • Develop an open, efficient, and industrialized reuse sector.

  • Empower communities to sustainably improve waste collection and sorting performance through proven solutions.

  • Develop a recycling program that complements existing systems and is economically sustainable.

Through these proposals, Léko is pursuing a common goal: to improve environmental performance, control costs, and make the most of existing infrastructure in order to accelerate the transition to a more circular economy.
