Our mission
Authorized by the French government, Léko's mission is to carry out its share of the public interest mission of preventing and managing household packaging and graphic paper waste in France. This activity is part of the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) scheme, which complies with the provisions of the Environment Code and the specifications of this sector.
The challenges are many, among them :
Contribute to achieving recycling targets for packaging and paper in France.
Actively participate in the deployment of the new 2020 anti-waste law for the circular economy.
Support and deploy new operational resources aimed at reducing the amount of packaging and paper put on the market in France.
Promote local employment, social integration and short supply chains.
Work with member producers to simplify the declaration process and reduce costs.
Communicate to help consumer habits evolve and become more responsible, and encourage sorting.
Develop new production, collection, sorting and recycling schemes with local authorities, manufacturers and businesses.
Opening up to international markets the services offered to producers to help them meet their obligations for packaging, paper and other EPR schemes.
