Since 2024, Léko has been responsible for taking back, free of charge, household packaging waste, printed paper and graphic paper from nomadic consumers, not collected by the public waste management service.
This means that all establishments open to the public in the départements allocated to Léko must be covered by this take-back program free of charge, within three years of approval. To this end, Léko provides for the possibility of contracting with establishments receiving the public (ERP) or with their waste operators directly.
Which establishments open to the public are concerned?
The areas concerned include freeway service areas, railway and metro stations, airports, exhibition centers, museums and monuments, cinemas, shopping malls, leisure parks, festivals, sporting events, offices and so on.
Which departments are concerned?
The departments of Allier, Drôme and Jura.
What costs are covered?
-Incentives paid to waste holders or operators
-Operating costs covering the following cost items:
- Collection equipment >= 120 L (excluding pre-collection equipment)
- Collection, sorting
- Miscellaneous transport
- Recycling
- Traceability*
