In the heart of the Jura region—a pioneer in waste sorting in France—Léko hosted the 5th edition of its Local Government Club, bringing together more than 50 participants from all over France.
From March 18 to June 1, 2026, students are invited to collect as many corks as possible to give them a second life. It’s a fun and educational way to raise awareness among young people about the importance of sorting and recycling waste.
The day featured discussions and workshops on key topics designed to support local governments in implementing the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system:
-Workshops highlighting initiatives and best practices from local governments in the Jura region;
-A workshop focused on behavioral barriers and motivators to encourage recycling;
-An update on Léko’s current initiatives and future prospects;
-A roundtable discussion on the sorting centers of the future, bringing together SYDOM, SYMEVAD, and SYTRAD;
-A workshop dedicated to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for commercial packaging.
This edition also featured the awards ceremony for our third call for projects.
With 39 projects submitted by our 17 partner municipalities, this year’s edition underscores the regions’ commitment to improving waste collection, recycling, and public awareness.
A total of 39 projects were selected, representing nearly 1.5 M€ in funding. These projects are expected to result in the collection of more than 3,000 additional metric tons of packaging and paper, representing an estimated 2.56% increase in collection performance.
