Let’s recycle together… and take action!
At Léko, we believe that small actions can make a big difference. That’s why we’re proud to support a local initiative that promotes both environmental sustainability and social solidarity, led by SITOM Sud Rhône, one of Léko’s partner organizations.
This cork collection drive, organized in schools and recreation centers across the region, engages children in a practical and meaningful challenge.
From March 18 to June 1, 2026, students are invited to collect as many corks as possible to give them a second life. It’s a fun and educational way to raise awareness among young people about the importance of sorting and recycling waste.
Learning by doing
Through this initiative, children learn that recycling isn’t just an abstract concept. They become agents of change by directly participating in an effort that benefits the environment. Sorting, collecting, understanding: these are all steps that help us better grasp the impact of our daily waste.
Cork, which is often mistakenly thrown away, is a natural, recyclable material that can be repurposed for many different uses. We’ll explain all about it here!
This contest is therefore also an opportunity to restore meaning to a simple act: no longer throwing things away, but repurposing them.
An eco-friendly project… that also supports the community
Beyond the environmental aspect, this initiative also has a strong social dimension. The collected bottle caps are sold, and the proceeds are donated to the France Cancer association, thereby helping to fund research.
Every bottle cap collected thus serves a dual purpose: it helps the planet and promotes good health.
A collective effort
This project brings together students, teachers, families, and local stakeholders around a shared goal. It demonstrates that everyone, in their own way, can contribute to a positive and tangible initiative.
At Léko, we strongly believe in initiatives like this that combine education, commitment, and real impact. Encouraging younger generations to develop good habits today means building a more responsible future for tomorrow.
