The waste management landscape is changing, with the decision to renew Léko's accreditation for the combined household packaging and graphic paper sector.
On December 21, the CIFREP (Commission Interprofessionnelle des Filières de Responsabilité Élargie des Producteurs) voted overwhelmingly in favor of this extension, with significant support of 62.5%. This decision was ratified by the public authorities on December 27, 2023, confirming the trust placed in Léko to continue its missions.
Léko's approval for the merged sector is now valid for a further year, with substantial changes to the unique specifications for 2024.
In 2024, Léko expands its activities by contracting directly with 13 local authorities, covering a population of 1.3 million.
These developments testify to Léko's ongoing commitment to responsible waste management, with a particular focus on eco-design, re-use, and increased collaboration with communities for a more sustainable future. The coming years promise to be rich in innovations and incentives, highlighting Léko's crucial role in the transition to a circular economy.
