As a state-approved eco-organization serving responsible businesses and citizens, Léko is pleased to present its new program dedicated to the development of packaging reuse: "En Route pour le Réemploi!".

The aim of this initiative is to structure and support the implementation of reuse loops, with the ambition of buildingan interoperable, reproducible model on a national scale by 2027.

Reuse is a major objective for the packaging sector in France, in line with the 2020 AGEC law, which sets a target of 10% of packaging to be reused by 2027. Numerous regional initiatives are taking shape, and Léko's aim is to capitalize on what already exists to boost their development. Only by working closely with local players to pool these efforts will we be able to deploy them effectively on a large scale.

Léko aims to accelerate this momentum with the support of two pilot operators: Loop and Revera.

Their operational experience in reuse should enable us to effectively develop the volumes of products sold in reusable packaging, which will be returned, sorted, washed and reused by producers through local, sustainable logistical and industrial loops.

The program is based on targeted financial assistance from Léko, which supports producers in their transition to reusable packaging that is competitive with its disposable equivalent. Distributors will also be supported in expanding their network of points of sale and collection points, while communication and awareness-raising campaigns at the point of sale will mobilize consumers and facilitate the adoption of these new practices.

The experimental phase is being rolled out primarily in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

It aims to bring together more than 40 partner brands, andto set up and run 500 sales and collection outlets by the end of 2026.

The packaging concerned is mainly bottles, before the scheme is gradually extended to jars and trays.

In the medium term, Léko's ambition is to extend the scope of its activities by 2026, and to work with all stakeholders - producers, distributors, operators and eco-organizations - to build a common national framework for reuse that will enable us to meet regulatory targets and promote structured local loops that are economically viable and socially rewarding.
