On the road to re-use with France Consigne and Léko!
Léko joins forces with France Consigne to support producers in their transition to packaging reuse. As part of its commitment to national reuse targets, Léko is collaborating with the France Consigne network to offer producers operational support in integrating reuse into the heart of their production process.
The agreement signed between Léko and France Consigne enables producers to receive financial support from Léko to integrate the necessary requirements to enable their packaging to be collected, washed, prepared and delivered by France Consigne 's national network of member operators, so that it can be re-integrated into the production cycle of new products. This system facilitates producers' transition to reuse of their packaging, while reducing the associated costs.
To benefit from this service, the producer must be a Léko member or commit to becoming one.
- Why reuse?
Reuse offers considerable environmental advantages over recycling. According to a 2018 ADEME study, it reduces energy consumption by 79%, water use by 51% and CO₂ emissions by 76%.
In addition to these ecological benefits, reuse helps to secure supplies, reduce waste and support short supply chains. For all these reasons, the 2020 AGEC law requires producers to convert at least 10% of their single-use packaging to a reusable alternative.
